So I had a fairly good day today, despite it being a monday. However, despite me being in a good mood, I was watching the news this morning and the footage from the recent Victorian bushfires is horrific, it is simply incomprehensible the horror that every person involved in this tragedy must have gone through and of course is still going through. The deaths and damage exceed both Ash Wednesday and Black Friday, perhaps they will name this event something so soft and human that it takes the horror out of the event as much as 'Ash Wednesday' now sees like a lifeless event. The news showed random interviews with some people, I have know idea how they were able to hold themselves together enough to make it through an interview. They reported that Marys was completely gone that whole beautiful, historic town completely gone, damage perhaps even too much for repair. There was another couple, a grandmother and grandfather that had there grandkids staying with them. they had managed to get out but the kids hadn't. You just can't imagine what these people are going through. I, some one who has Grandparents in Victoria but is otherwise unaffected by what is happening, feel sorry, no I can't even explain how I feel about the horrific destruction. I struggle to even connected to these people because I simply can't comprehend what it would be like.
The scariest thing is that some of the fires where lit deliberitly, is wasn't even a natural disaster....
